Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology is part of the Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society. The patron-in-chief of the society is Prince Muffakham Jah Bahadur who is the grandson of the last Nizam of Hyderabad. The society owes its presence to a highly motivated and dedicated group of Hyderabadis belonging to various walks of life and earnestly committed to the intellectual, cultural and social betterment of the citizens.
The college is named after Prince Muffakham Jah, the grandson of the last Nizam. Founded and established in 1980, it is an important landmark in the field of professional education and training in Engineering Technologies and exposing them to professional expertise to meet the future requirements of Industry and Technology both in the country and abroad. It also aims at fashioning them into disciplined and purposeful technocrats to face the challenge of the changing industrial and economic scenario.
The college is affiliated to Osmania University of Hyderabad. The college is located at Banjara Hills to the west of the city of Hyderabad. The campus spreads over an area of 20 acres. The college campus comprises of several buildings used for both administrative and teaching purposes. The teaching section consists of 57 rooms out if which there are 24 class rooms, 15 laboratories, 14 staff rooms and 4 drawing halls. Apart from these there are Seminar Hall, Audio-Visual Room, Examination Cell, Office of Academic Section, a fully equipped state of the art Computer Centre and a well equipped spacious Auditorium which can accommodate 1200 persons at a time. There is also a separate block comprising the laboratories of the various departments.
The college campus is full of greenery with lush lawns and flowers visible
all round the campus. A distinctive feature of the college is that it is
financially autonomous and have never sought for government aid in any
form.
