The college campus
is spread over 20 acres and had well maintained lawns and flowers all round
the campus. The college is always maintained clean and tidy providing a
great environment for studies and games. The college is also easily accessible
from any part of the city by bus or auto.
The
college library is housed in a spacious building. It is adequately furnished
to meet the requirements of the staff and students. It has over 15,000
books and has a reading room provided with high-priced publications and
latest journals in Engineering and Modern Technology. It also had numerous
volumes of journals, project works. It subscribes to many Indian journals,
Foreign journals and magzines.
The books are classified and catalogued according to the Dewey Decimal
classification system and AACR cataloguing rules. The card index is arranged
alphabetically with reference to the title and the authors and the books
and a seperate catalogue card index is provided for project reports. The
library is open from 9-10 hours to 15-50 hours on all working days. The
reading room facility is extended by an hour one month before the commencement
of the semester exams. The library also offers various levels of user instruction
and orientation services to MJCET students. The library is also provided
with a Xerox machine and a water cooler.
The
activities of the college include educational excursions, visits to industrial
units and the projects undertaken by the students under the guidance of
their teachers.
Also Elocution, Quiz and Essay-Writing competions are held. Engineering
faculties in the college cunduct lectures and seminars by inviting eminent
Scholars and Specialists to keep the students and staff in touch with the
latest trends in Engineering Technologies.
This
association consistes of the past and the present students to interact
with one another to explore the areas of mutual help and co-operation to
pool their experinces to face the new challenges in the rapidly changing
environment in the present world.
The college had made arrangements for a placement cell under a full time
special officer appointed for this purpose. It provides the ways and means
of providing facilities and necessary information to the Engineering students
of the college to improve their future projects and also guide them both
in the country and abroad. In addition necessary aasistance and guidance
is being provided for project placement, visits and industrial units. Counselling
is also provided for students interested to set up their own industries.
Facilties for playing Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball and Handball
have been provided in outdoor games and indoor games like Table Tennis,
Chess, Carroms and Weightlifting. Adequate facilties have also been made
for Athletics, Swimming and Parallel Bars. Students take part in Inter
College, Zonals and State level Tournaments. Several students have also
represented the state in National Championships. Several students have
also represented Osmania University in various events.
